Documenting the trash in my world...

About me

rachel_beach_lightThere are so many things to notice in this amazing world we live in.  Some people notice flowers.  I notice things that are left behind.  I was traveling with some friends recently in an ancient Roman city and came across an area that had been overgrown with beautiful red flowers.  One of my friends excitedly called for me to come photograph the beautiful flowers - but I was completely captivated by the paper plate that someone had wedged into an ancient wall.  I'm so in awe of nature that I won't even try to capture it on film - but finding the beauty in what man has created, even inadvertently, I find to be an achievable and enjoyable challenge.

The first things that I started noticing were coffee cups.  I was walking down the street and saw a coffee cup perched on a phone booth.  It was so beautiful and perfect just sitting there.  I started seeing them all over the place.  And then I started noticing other things that get left behind - either intentionally or unintentionally.  I'm most intrigued by placement that looks intentional.

What are you noticing in your part of the world?  I'd love to hear from you.
